Defyeyes is a Savannah, Georgia–based multidisciplinary artist whose practice interrogates belief, identity, and embodiment within a technologically accelerated culture. Drawing from postmodern and posthuman theory, the work situates religious iconography and esoteric symbolism as early systems of knowledge—precursors to contemporary data structures that once mediated meaning, authority, and transcendence. These symbolic frameworks are approached not as faith, but as encoded languages through which power and consciousness have historically been organized.

Working across painting, mixed media, resin casting, screen printing, and sculptural processes, Defyeyes constructs hybrid forms that exist between image, object, and relic. Found materials, ink, charcoal, and cast resin are layered with sacred motifs, archetypal figures, and fragments of popular culture. Experimental 3D painting techniques and mold-based structures introduce physical depth, transforming the surface into a site of accumulation—where ritual, consumption, and technological residue converge.

In an era where data functions as a dominant currency and transcendence is increasingly deferred to machines, Defyeyes’ work examines the persistence of spiritual desire amid systems of automation and control. Esoteric references operate as quiet signals—gestures toward hidden orders, encoded knowledge, and the human impulse to seek meaning beyond the visible.
